Since then, more than 12.7 million Honda Accord cars have been sold—including a healthy amount of models here at our dealership near Chesapeake, VA.
It wasn’t long after the Honda Accord hit the scene that Honda began manufacturing their signature vehicle here in the U.S. With production beginning in November of 1982, the Honda Accord has been in continuous production in the U.S. for almost 34 years. At plants in Marysville, Ohio, East Liberty, Ohio, and Birmingham, Alabama—as well as other North American plants in Alliston, Ontario, Canada and El Salto, Jalisco, Mexico—more than 10.7 Honda Accord vehicles have been produced for local and global markets. The Honda Accord has played a pivotal role not only in the evolution of the American auto industry, but in the lives of thousands of U.S. auto workers over the decades.
One of the secrets to the Honda Accord model’s success is its constant evolution. Over 40 years, there have been nine different generations of the Honda Accord, each incorporating the best technology available.
