To celebrate the 25th anniversary of their iconic Sonic the Hedgehog™ video game character, SEGA® teamed with Honda to build the one-of-a-kind “Sonic Civic.” Based on a turbocharged 2016 Civic Touring Sedan, the car was a celebration of the spiky blue video game character known for his incredible speed. James Jenkins, Public Relations Manager for the Honda Division, was thrilled about the celebratory vehicle. "What better way to showcase the incredibly sporty performance capability of the 10th generation Civic than by pairing it with gaming industry's ultimate athlete – Sonic the Hedgehog," said Jenkins.
The Honda Sonic Civic features an eye-popping array of custom features, including custom wheels and tires that represent Sonic’s classic red shoes and gold rings. The exterior sports an incredible vinyl Sonic the Hedgehog design and paint scheme. A Sonic Black Grill, BASF R-M Candy Sonic Blue painted exterior with custom Sonic Yellow throughout, and a Sonic Yellow Honda logo let you know right away that this is a special Honda Civic. Inside, Sonic the Hedgehog front and rear seats with Katzkin Blue Leather and custom "Sonic the Hedgehog" 25th Anniversary embroidered logos offer even more fun. The custom trunk design incorporates a Rockford Fosgate audio-visual system featuring two 500-watt T1S2 10-inch subwoofers, two 500-watt TM400 400-watt amplifiers, and a floor-mounted flip-up/down 32-inch television to play classic "Sonic the Hedgehog" games.
