When you’re looking to put your family in a new vehicle like the 2016 Honda CR-V, you want to make sure that they’ll be safe. Here at Hall Honda Virginia Beach, we’re happy to report that the Honda brand makes use of advanced, innovative safety technology to keep your crew protected.
Adaptive Cruise Control (AAC) finally makes cruise control a viable choice when there’s light traffic on the road by allowing drivers to set not only their desired speed, but a desired following interval between their car and the car in front of them. To further the cause of avoiding or mitigating front impact, Honda developed the Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™). Using a combined radar transmitter and forward-facing camera, the CMBS determines the distance and closing speed of objects it detects directly ahead. If the system registers potential for a crash, it acts to alert the driver via audible and visual warnings (some models even add a light tug on the driver’s seat belt), providing a chance to take corrective action before a collision occurs. If the CMBS senses that a frontal collision is unavoidable, it will take matters into its own hands and automatically apply strong braking to help reduce the velocity of impact and the force of collision, even if no prior warnings have been issued.
One of our favorite features is the Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), which works to proactively keep your Honda vehicle centered in a detected lane.
