Thanks to Honda automaker’s newest entry you
no longer need a passport to feel like you’re traveling far away from the
Chesapeake and Virginia Beach, VA areas. That’s because our favorite automaker
here at Hall Honda Virginia Beach just debuted the all-new 2019 Honda Passport.
The 2019 Honda Pilot is a midsize SUV that takes several cues from the popular
Honda Pilot. This five-passenger off-roader is the latest entry into the
automaker’s off-road market, and it sits between the 2019 Honda CR-V and Honda Pilot.
Ultimately, the Honda Passport is an attractive, stout SUV sitting on the same
platform that underpins the Honda Ridgeline. With a high ground clearance,
shorter rear overhang, and scratch resistant materials, this SUV is meant to go
off-road.
Powering the all-new Honda Passport is a sizeable 3.5-liter V6 engine that puts
out 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque mated to a nine-speed automatic
transmission. Most models offer either front or all-wheel drive, except the
2019 Honda Passport Elite trim which only offers all-wheel drive. Each trim
also comes standard with 20-inch wheels.
If you like the look of this new Honda SUV and are concerned about on-road
dynamics and feel, don’t worry. According to Honda general manager Henio Arcangeli
Jr., "The all-new 2019 Honda Passport provides the on-road comfort and
nimble handling buyers will appreciate on their daily commute with the robust
off-road and all-weather capability that make for a great weekend adventure
vehicle." So, whether you’re staying in the Virginia Beach, VA area or
taking it out for an adventure, you’ll always enjoy modern comfort.
