Honda Warning Light Explanation
There are two different types of dashboard lights that you’ll see in Honda cars like the Honda Pilot. The first type is the warning lights. These lights indicate when certain parts under the hood are damaged or malfunctioning. Here are some of the most common warning lights that you’ll encounter.
- Tire Pressure Monitoring System: The TPMS warning light is a yellow exclamation point in the middle of what looks like a tire. It lights up when your tires need to be inflated or when the car is using a compact spare tire.
- Charging system warning lights: A red car battery light on your dashboard indicates that there is a problem with your battery and charging system.
- Malfunction indicator lamp: This light is also known as the Check Engine Light, the symbol looks like a yellow engine block. It signals a problem with one of the vehicle's engine, transmission, or exhaust, such as a misfire in the engine’s cylinders.
- Brake system warning light: The word “brake” shining in red means that your car may need more brake fluid.
- Vehicle Stability Assist warning light: If you see an icon that resembles a swerving yellow car, there might be something wrong with the Vehicle Stability Assist system.
