As the only part of the car that keeps you connected to the road, tires are critically important for both performance and safety. A crucial part of your Honda maintenance regimen, tires should be checked regularly. Here at our Honda tire center at Hall Honda Virginia Beach, our team of parts and service experts are happy to answer all your questions about Honda tires.

Here are some of the most common tire-related questions.

What Is My Recommended Tire Pressure?

Keeping your tires at their recommended pressure is essential to keeping them in top shape. To find the recommended tire pressure for your Honda car’s make and model, check the owner’s manual or the inside of your driver's side door.

What Is the Rolling Resistance of My Tires?

Rolling resistance measures the force required to roll a tire against a dynamometer at a fixed speed of 50 miles per hour. Every tire will have its own specific rolling resistance, and it is sometimes listed on the tire.

How Often Should I Rotate My Tires?

Tire rotation is essential to ensure that they wear evenly. Here at our Honda service center, we recommend getting tires rotated every six months, or at least have your tires inspected every time you get an oil change.

What Are the Different Types of Tires?

If you want to change out your tires to a new set, you’ll find that there are a few different categories of tires:

  • All-season tires
  • Winter tires
  • Performance tires
  • All-terrain tires

When Should You Replace Your Tires?

Tires should be replaced when they are too damaged, too worn, or too old to drive safely. Most tires are considered too worn to drive on when the tread goes below 1/16 of an inch. On average, tires last about five to six years.

To find out if your tires need to be replaced, schedule an appointment with our tire professionals.
